Add-Ons Now Available - Unlocked Stretch Goals to Remain Unlocked
over 7 years ago – Wed, Nov 30, 2016 at 10:42:42 PM

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. -- Per popular demand we've posted Add-ons, including all 10 Creatures, Prince Ulep, the enemy fighters and the villains. The Villain Warriors come in a 6 pack and will be used to guard rooms, etc. Princess Xea'lana and Prince Ulep can be added to Coalition and Renegade Crews respectively.

We'll probably be adding the Troop Transport and the Military Satellite as well for space battles.

Zurathi Warrior, Zurathi Fighter, Dregg Fighter, Shark-Leviathan, Princess Xea'lana, Prince Ulep, Tri-Gorgon, Fen-Griffin
Zurathi Warrior, Zurathi Fighter, Dregg Fighter, Shark-Leviathan, Princess Xea'lana, Prince Ulep, Tri-Gorgon, Fen-Griffin

In addition, I've also posted an Add-On for Tactical Cards. For those of you who have read the rule book, you'll remember that these cards attach to your commander. Each player chooses one random orbital and one planetary Tactical Card and uses them when either on the ground or in space. They're a nice addition, to reinforce that your commanders are the strongest crew members on the board.

I know it's been a rough road and the competition in the market has been a drain on our supporters, but know that we're in this for the long haul and we want you to continue backing our future games and expansions. Though we continue to drop below the $55k Stretch Goal, we will not re-lock it for those that stick with through the end of the campaign.

We will, however, re-lock it for Late Pledges.

Some more background about the Characters: One of the Game's Campaigns is called Civil War, where the Visarath king was mysteriously found murdered one night. Prince Ulep, a man mad with the lust for power, immediately took the throne, but his sister, who believed that her brother was behind their father's untimely demise, challenged him.

Supporters for both sides rallied throughout the system until Visarth was on the brink of war. That was until Prince Ulep attempted to buy armaments from the Dreggs and was caught red-handed. Xea'lana thought all violence would be quelled now that her brother was incarcerated and awaiting trial. However, So'len Frae had other plans for the mad Prince.

Visarath Royalty
Visarath Royalty

The Ern Stone remained locked away in a vault in the palace. Once merged with the blood of Visarath Royalty, it imbued the barer with control of a single element, making them semi-invincible.

In the game, you can either unlock these characters during the Civil War Campaign, or if all players agree, you can immediately recruit either the Prince or Princess to join your crew. Having ranged attacks without the use of weapons, makes these characters very desirable for any crew.

Thank you again for all of your support and continuing to remain diligent in spite of all of the competition.

The Destiny Aurora Universe & the Fen-Griffin
over 7 years ago – Sun, Nov 20, 2016 at 11:52:31 PM

Thank you all for you continued comments and suggestions. One of those suggestions was to give a little background on the universe the Destiny Aurora characters live in, as well as the alien species and ever-present conflicts.

Before I begin, I got this in from the sculptors today and I wanted to share with you. The Fen-Griffin is an over-sized creature figure that your teams may come across on the mission planets. I think he looks really cool.

He'll be an add-on if we don't get to him as a Stretch Goal.

Now onto the story. The main Destiny Aurora stories in the books and upcoming comics revolve around its crew, namely: Inspector Jayce Carver, Sgt. Rovanna Zoor, Airman Flibby Yaas, Cprl, X-473 and Rolf, the engineer.

Jayce was a former Secret Service agent whose wife was a senator. When she was assassinated while giving a speech during his watch, he lost all control over his life and was fired. The same arc-bolt that took his wife's life, took his right hand as he attempted to put himself in front of her. Hence the reason for his robotic hand and constant reminder of his failure.

He later became an Inspector in the Coalition for the sole reason of tracking down the assassin, Kunlore Thorne, the commander of the Hades VI,

After five years of searching, he finally tracks down Kunlore and that's where the twists and turns in the story begin. I won't provide any spoilers at this point for those that want to read the novel.

Coalition Space is split into quadrants and each inspector is assigned a quadrant to patrol. Their ships are their precincts, where they can perform interrogations and house prisoners en route to their trials and subsequent incarceration.

In addition to Coalition Space, there is also Dregg Space and Unaligned Space for those worlds that have not yet joined the Coalition. Dregg Space is lawless and is where all of the criminals go to have sanctuary from the Coalition. Inspectors have no jurisdiction there, but that doesn't stop the Dreggs from coming into Coalition Space to make a few deals and run right back across the border.

Port Saven is the hub of Dregg Space and is situated on an asteroid that revolves around a small planetoid.

The self-proclaimed leader of the Dreggs is Darius, who kept Rovanna as his slave before she was rescued by Jayce and later joined the Coalition. Rovanna became Darius' pet due to his interest in her birth defect. Instead of the two species (human and Kraysorian) melding together to create a hybrid child, she was split directly down the middle.

The Zurathis on the other hand, are a race of warriors. They're conquerors by nature. After decades of war with Earth, a truce was finally struck between Earth, the Coalition and the Duoma, the queen of the Zurathi Empire. Though there is a truce, the Zurathis never joined the Coalition. Most believe that the truce is only temporary until the Duoma feels the Zurathis are strong enough for another war.

So'len Frae, Zurathi Warrior, Nel'ha
So'len Frae, Zurathi Warrior, Nel'ha

So'len Frae was one of the Zurathi Empire's most decorated commanders, until the day that he was exiled along with all of his followers. I won't get into how he and Jayce become mortal enemies, that's explained heavily in the books.

The game comes with two Renegades from each of these races. Krellyn Rane - a Dregg and Nel'ha - a Zurathi. Both are disgruntled with their former leaders and have extra bonuses when facing off against their former compatriots.

In the first book we also meet the crew of the Eden Fyre commanded by Inspector Stephen Straken as well Quinn Mar and Rica Aris. Book #2 revolves heavily around Trixx We'quor a thief and "button-head" as Rolf likes to call her. She had a full processing system surgically implanted in her scalp. She is the only thief in the game so far, so don't stand adjacent to her or you might find your stuff missing.

Book #2 also introduces Belle Azur and Nel'ha. I'm hoping to have Book #2 ready for print in the next six weeks.

So that's the basics of the universe, of course there's so much more. We get to visit Flibby's homeworld of Reynia as well as Visarath Prime in the new book. We'll take a look at these two species in the next update.

I'll also be shooting the solo game play video later this week, so look for that.

Thanks again for all of your support and encouragement.

2nd Stretch Goal - So'len Frae Unlocked.
over 7 years ago – Tue, Nov 15, 2016 at 11:13:18 PM

Awesome support, everyone! We have now unlocked So'len Frae, the Zurathi commander.

So'len Frae is the arch nemesis of Coalition Inspector - Jayce Carver. I don't want to give too much away for those who haven't read the book yet. He is a military strategist and was exiled from Zurathi prime after attempting to attack Earth.

As a thank you for the continued support and well-wishes, we are reducing the level of the next two stretch goals to half. That means that at $60,000 the Tri-Gorgon Creature figure will be unlocked.

Next up would be Princess Xea'lana, who is Visarath royalty along with her brother, Prince Ulep. Both characters are labeled as "Royalty," but may be recruited to serve on your ship.

After that we'll be unlocking 3 Dregg Fighters at $75,000.

Donors have been asking me to post some info about other characters, so here's Abok a member of the Renegade crew. He's a Lamberdarian Warrior who serves as an engineer on either the Cerberus or the Hades VI under command of Kunlore Thorne or Donexia Konn.

Presently he is the only character that can move through water terrain unhindered, for obvious reasons. He also has super strength and can punch enemies into walls, creating wall damage.  He's a great addition to any crew and perfect for maintaining your ship while in space or as a member of your away team.

Thank you all again for your support and belief in the project. I can't wait to hear about your adventures once you start playing.

Also the first comic book is almost completely done and artwork for the second is being started. I just got back the edit for the 2nd novel so that will be going to print by the end of the year.

Have a great week.

FIRST STRETCH GOAL UNLOCKED
over 7 years ago – Wed, Nov 09, 2016 at 04:21:17 PM

I'm so excited that Asp-4 will be added to the game for our donors. Next up is So'len Frae the exiled Zurathi Commander that plays a huge role in the books. I don't want to give too much away, but he essentially becomes Jayce's arch nemesis, which carries over to the game as he will gravitate toward Jayce if he is on the map.

Only $6k to go till we unlock him.

Next up in the the Stretch Goal succession is the Tri-Gorgon, an indigenous creature that could appear through World Event Cards and certain Missions. He's a nasty character and you sure don't want him following you around.

Thank you again for support and getting the word out there about the game.

Destiny Aurora Officially Funded!
over 7 years ago – Tue, Nov 08, 2016 at 10:10:01 AM

YAY!! I would once again like to thank everyone for their support of the game and achieving funding. We're currently $8,700 from the first stretch goal and we're less than a week into the campaign.

Here is our first stretch goal, the Android Commander, Asp-4, who hates humans.

Some people asked they could see Krellyn Rane in her pose. This print is a couple of months old and as you can see, it hasn't bent down to the base. We'll be using similar hardness of plastic to the resin of the print.

We will be doing a play through video. This week so stay tuned.

Here's some additional art - Renegades Captain Donexia Konn

The pencils and inks for the comic have been completed. I'm just waiting on the remainders of the colors.
